In the summer I was lucky enough to be able to do myfirst maternity shoot for my brother-in-law and his wife. I had a really good afternoon! The kids are so funny.

Anyway... Here are my favourites...

- End of Year Show -

 This week was the End of Year exhibition, marking the end of my course at Tameside College.  Although I am really sad about leaving, it was quite exciting being part of the show!  Here's the last project I will ever do for Tameside...

“We all start out with a false belief about ourselves. 

Some untrue thing we believe walking through our lives;

I’m not worthy, I’m not lovable, I’m gonna fail. 

Whatever your basic mistaken belief about yourself is,

you form a personality around.

In my opinion, not only do we form our personalities around these ‘mistaken beliefs’, but we also hide our true selves behind them.  Our insecurities can hold so much power over us that they control who we are and the way we act.  It is the one thing that we all have in common, a ‘mistaken belief’. 

         I want to show my models as they are.   They will all have the same circumstances, making them all equal.  I also want my models to be topless,  so they have nothing to hide behind.  I don’t want to be able to see their eyes in my images.  I want my models to be detached from the viewer to create the feeling that they are hiding something.  I want these images to show that feeling of vulnerability that we all have inside of us. 

         My inspiration for this concept is mainly my own feelings.  My inspiration for the photographs themselves came from looking at the work of Tom Hoops and Quentin Arnaud.  Using different lighting techniques, their portraits enabled their models to hide from the viewer.

It's December, which means it's officially Christmas...I'm so excited!  I'm looking forward to capturing the holiday season!

- Kelly; 'Ballerina' -

I'm currently working on a studio brief at college.  As one of my final images I wanted to create a photograph that was dynamic, striking and graceful.  As my model was sick the day of shooting, the lovely Kelly stepped in and I have to say, made quite a good fake ballerina.  I'm so proud of her!

This shoot was a massive learning curve for me.  The studio was not my strongest ability, but I feel a lot more confident with all of that technical stuff now!  It was really interesting and I learnt that I'm a bit of a control freak.  These aren't the edits I will be using for my final picture, these are specially for 'commercial use'.

- Jenny & Padhraig...Round 2 -

I was lucky enough to get another opportunity to photograph my friend Jenny and her husband.  They came to England for a couple of days so I met up with them to do a mini 'Rock the Frock'.  Jenny was a real trooper even though she wasn't feeling too well.  The weather was on our side this time so I had a chance to get some beautiful shots.   I also experimented with a few different editing techniques.
