- Pinhole -

My first project at Stockport College was pinhole photography.  My camera was made from a Quality Street tin and loaded with light sensitive paper.  It was completely light tight apart from a tiny pin-sized hole in the lid, this let the light through to create my photographs.  I scanned them in to show you...

For this project, I wanted to create a set of images that communicate the feeling of time pulling you forward.  I used movement in my photographs to enhance the feeling of being dragged headfirst into the unknown.  The use of strong leading lines and a vanishing point, have allowed me to force the viewer to see what I want them to see, giving me control over how they look at my photographs.  I shot on location in a place that has a lot of significance to my work and myself.

The feelings I want to portray within each scene are mystery, confusion and apprehension.
