- Finding My Style... -

So I've passed the half way mark of my first year at college! I must admit it has gone rather fast, and as difficult as I find it I absolutely love it.  We have just started a new portraiture brief much to my delight!  Today I've been using a couple of my college mates as models to practice, and what fabulous models they are.  I had a brilliant day shooting these girls and appreciate their patience with me as I get the images I want.  I am my hardest critic and these girls gave me confidence in my work...their hearts are as beautiful as them!

Starting practice for this brief I have already learnt a couple of things about my preferred 'style'.  I enjoy bright coloured photographs, but currently there is nothing I love more than a good old black and white image.  I can't quite explain why, I think it's because the emotion is more prominent and raw.  I also think it has a certain simplicity to it.  I am also in LOVE with close up portraits, I feel it adds a certain intimacy between the subject and the audience.

So here they are...my latest images.  I hope you enjoy looking at them, I certainly enjoyed shooting them!!

The gorgeous Kelly.  Yes, she is really crying.  She was absolutely perfect in this photograph!
Tasha has amazing eyes and I think this photograph really accentuates them.  The way the light is falling on her face gives her a softness and a serenity that makes this photograph my favourite.
Look at those piercing eyes!

I think this photo has a certain craziness and darkness to it.  I love it!!
